His & Hers Media is committed to independent, honest and respectful coverage of Australian live performance and entertainment. This policy sets out the standards that guide our editorial decisions, our relationships with artists and partners, and the trust we ask readers to place in us.

Editorial independence
Editors and contributors retain full control over what is published. No advertiser, partner, venue, producer or publicist may influence, approve or veto editorial content. Commercial relationships are managed separately from editorial decision-making.

Honest criticism, delivered with respect
We review work as it is experienced by an audience. Praise is given when earned; criticism is offered constructively and never used to humiliate individuals. Personal attacks, gossip and unverified claims have no place in our coverage.

Transparency with access
When we attend a performance, screening, event or interview as invited media, we disclose that access where relevant. Complimentary tickets, press passes or hosted experiences do not guarantee favourable coverage.

Fair treatment of artists and subjects
Interview subjects are quoted accurately and in context. We correct errors promptly, respect embargoes, and consider the personal and professional impact of what we publish before publication.

Clear separation of editorial and advertising
Sponsored content, partnerships and paid placements are always labelled clearly. They are never presented as independent reviews, interviews or editorial features. Editorial staff do not write advertorial copy.

Accuracy and corrections
We verify credits, dates, names and factual claims before publishing. When an error is identified, we correct it promptly and record the correction within the article or in a dedicated corrections note.
Complimentary tickets and media access
From time to time His & Hers Media accepts complimentary tickets, press passes or hosted access to performances, events, openings and interviews. This is standard practice in arts journalism and allows us to cover work that would otherwise be difficult to access.
Acceptance of access never obliges a positive review, a guaranteed mention, or editorial approval by a third party. Where access has been provided, we may note this within the article for transparency. If we are unable to review a work fairly, we decline the invitation.
Conflicts of interest
Contributors and editors disclose any personal, professional or financial relationship that could reasonably be seen to affect their impartiality. Where a conflict exists, we either disclose it prominently, assign coverage to another contributor, or decline to cover the work.
Past working relationships with performers, companies or venues are common in a small arts community. We do not treat these as automatic conflicts, but we do consider whether they would influence a reader's trust in a particular piece of coverage.
